Pornos For Pyros

I remember this show vividly, it was the WBCN River Rave at Great Woods, I only had permission to shoot photos of Pornos For Pyros through their record label I think. I wanted to go to this show to see one of my favorite bands, Echo & the Bunnymen. After Pornos For Pyros finished I went backstage and watched the rest of the bands. I was never a big Primus fan so I casually watched them when they came on, this guy comes up right next to me, stands there for a minute or two and then says…”What the fuck is this nonsense?” I tell him that I’m not a big fan either, we spent the next 10 minutes trashing Primus and talking about bands that we liked. Finally he says, “Sorry I never introduced myself, my name is Les Pattinson”, I reply with “Ya I know, you’re the bassist for Echo & the Bunnymen, which is the main reason I came to see this show”, he started laughing and we continued bashing Primus, funny guy. I ended up getting separated from my friend Kim who drove me to the show, this was before cells phones were popular. After all the bands finish I see her sitting off to the side waiting for me, with this skinny bald dude. They say their goodbyes and we walk to her car, I say “who was that guy who was all over you?” she says “oh that’s Moby, he’s such a flirt”… I barely even knew of him back then.
